Welcome to the new S-T.E.C. discussion forum! Please introduce yourself, tell us about your shop and where you're located.

We've been working behind the scenes for months to roll out this powerful new software platform, and an introduction is a perfect way for you to take it for a test ride. Some of the improvements over the old discussion board:

User-friendly: It's much easier to read. It's much easier to start new conversations or add comments to existing conversations.

Searchable: This forum has a powerful search engine. If someone's already come up with the answer you're looking for, you can find it quickly in the archives.

Bookmark favorite topics: When you find relevant discussions you want to follow, click the star icon at the start of that discussion. You can then find your collection of bookmarked topics by clicking on the star icon below your user name in the column to the left.

Upload photos: Sometimes, it's easier to show it than say it. You can upload photos to illustrate your question by clicking on the Attach a File... link below the writing window. Please don't post content that you don't have the rights to.

Auto-save drafts: As you're typing, your drafts will auto-save every few minutes. You're much less likely to lose the post you spent so much time writing.

The forum is organized by component category. If you have a question about Shimano brakes, or tools and parts related to brakes, ask in the Brake Category.

For questions about Shimano dealer services, or products that don't fit neatly into any other category, ask in General Shimano Discussion

The board you're reading right now, The Lounge, is the place for new-user introductions, or to talk about bike-related stuff that's otherwise off-topic. Want to show off your new ride? Got a great idea in your shop that you want to show off? The Lounge is the place to do it.

Lastly - please have a look at our Forum Rules. It's all pretty common-sense netiquette, but please read it.
